It was a rough Labor Day for Marywood women’s soccer team as they went up against Lebanon Valley College. The Dutchmen routed the Pacers 6-2.

According to marywoodpacers.com, Lebanon Valley’s Sammy Bost opened up the scoring in the 13th minute with a goal off a cross from Katie Goldsmith.

Twenty minutes later the Dutchmen ballooned the lead with two goals in a 40-second span. Bost found teammate Meghan Ross to put Lebanon Valley up 2-0. That goal was quickly followed with a header from Lebanon Valley’s Emmie Santoleri off a corner kick to put Lebanon in a commanding 3-0 position.

The Pacers finally found the net just before the break.

Junior Brianna Untener, an interior architecture major, redirected a drive from Emily Kotcho, a junior early childhood education major.

Marywood looked for momentum in the second half, but the Dutchmen thwarted any possible comeback effort with three more goals six-minutes.

Sophomore Megan Swiecicki, an interior architecture major, scored in the 81st minute, but it was far too late for a rally.

The Pacers’ travel to Glenside, Pa. to face off against Arcadia University on Saturday at Noon in the Scarlet Knights’ annual tournament.
