Valentine’s Day is a day to spend with your significant other. But what if you don’t have a significant other to spend it with? Instead of sitting home on Valentine’s Day feeling sorry for yourself and eating chocolate on your couch watching romantic movies and crying, get out there! There are plenty of things to do on Valentines Day when you’re single.
Make a day with friends. Go to lunch with friends and talk or, better yet, go to dinner with all of your other single friends. Valentine’s Day isn’t just about couples, spend the day with the people you love most in your life and let them know it. You can even organize a Secret Admirer’s Single Girl’s Gift. Think of it like a Secret Santa. Send the person you got flowers, chocolates, or even her favorite movie.
Have a party at your house. Get a bunch of friends together and have food, music, and movies. You can even break out the karaoke machine and just be silly with your closet single friends. If you’re not too keen on playing hostess, just invite a few friends over to watch movies. Get a bunch of eye candy movies and drool over the actors you find the dreamiest.
If none of these things seem to work for you, then you can always pamper yourself. Go to a spa; get your hair and nails done. Do something for yourself. It’s okay to spend a little money on yourself once in awhile and why not on Valentine’s Day? Make it your day, who knows you might run into someone to sweep you off your feet and you won’t have to worry about having a date next year!
