The Board of Trustees Standing Committee of Shared Governance met with the Ad Hoc Committee on Shared Governance from the Faculty Senate on Friday, Dec. 4, according to Dr. David J. Palmiter chair of the Ad Hoc committee and psychology professor.
Palmiter said that one of the outcomes of the meeting was that the committees agreed to continue with future meetings for the time being.
The members of the Board of Trustees Standing Committee of Shared Governance are Dr. Ann R. Henry, Lee A. DeHihns, Lisa Lori, Esq., Col. Lorraine R. Breen, Marion Munley, Esq., Msgr. David Tressler, and Sr. Anne Munley, IHM, Ph.D. Dick Kane is chair of the committee.
The members of the Ad Hoc Committee on Shared Governance from the Faculty Senate include Dr. Craig Johnson, mathematics professor; Dr. Brooke Cannon, psychology professor; Dr. Laurie McMillan, associate professor of English; Arthur Comstock, Ph.D., executive director and chair of the Business department; Joseph Polizzi, Ph.D., associate professor of Education and Educational Leadership; William Conlogue, Ph.D., English professor; and Christopher Speicher, M.B.A., Ph.D., associate professor of Business. Palmiter is the chair of the committee.
Dr. Ann Henry, member of the Board of Trustees Standing Committee of Shared Governance and chair of the Board of Trustees, said they had a positive meeting.
“[The meeting was] very collaborative. [There is] lots of excitement from the board and the faculty in terms of moving forward and a tremendous commitment on behalf of everybody to Marywood’s mission, values, our students, our faculty and a recognition for the great job our faculty does every day with our students and how they contribute to our future success,” said Henry.
