Dr. Denise Wilbur has been named Interim Provost at Marywood in an announcement from Marywood’s new president, Sr. Mary Persico, IHM, Ed.D.

In a memo addressed to the Marywood community, Sr. Mary said a committee met with candidates from the Registry for College and University Presidents before Dr. Wilbur was named as Interim Provost.

According to the memo, Wilbur received a doctoral degree in Administration, Planning and Social Policy from Harvard University and a Master’s Degree in Adult Education Administration from the University of Connecticut. She has served as Interim Provost and in an interim role at previous colleges.

Sr. Mary thanked Dr. Alan Levine, previous Vice President of Academic Affairs, for his service.

“Dr. Wilbur will build on all the good work that Dr. Levine has undertaken during his tenure in this role,” concluded Sr. Mary in the letter.

Wilbur will begin her work at Marywood on June 27.
