Coaches’ Outlooks for the Winter Season

Men’s Basketball

Coach Eric Grundman

“We are excited to begin the 2012-2013 Men’s Basketball season. This year’s team is hard at work, led by Tri- Captains Ryan Corrigan, Ty- rone Baker, and Matt Tintle. The team is currently in it’s 4th week of preseason and the implementation of a new system in which we will play a more fast paced and open style on the offensive end while playing multiple de- fenses. Individually and col- lectively, we are beginning

to pick up and understand the concepts of this new sys- tem and we are beginning to see positive results. For this team to be successful we will have to play hard, smart, and together along with defending at a high lev- el, in addition, we will have to consistently rebound and take care of the ball. If we are able to do these things we will be able to reach our team goal of qualify- ing for the CSAC playoffs.”

Women’s Basketball

Coach Tara Macciocco

“This is going to be a very exciting season for Mary- wood Women’s Basketball. We have a very young but experienced group that is very eager to get started. They got a taste of what college basketball is about last season and have worked extremely hard in the off season to improve on some

things that were missing last year. This is a very coachable group of young ladies that all get along re- ally well, which helps us tremendously on the court. The coaching staff is really excited to get started and looks forward to us grow- ing and improving as a team each and every day.”
