Marywood women’s lacrosse is now 0-3 in the Atlantic East Conference.

Marywood Women’s Lacrosse faced Cabrini University Tuesday afternoon. The Pacers fell to the number one seed in the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) with a final score of 19-6.

Cabrini was the Pacers’ hardest matchup this season. Cabrini is currently number one in the AEC and the Pacers are currently ranked 7th in the AEC.

It was a slow start for the Pacers with Cabrini scoring 16 goals in the first half, and with little offensive pressure from the Pacers.

The Pacers were able to get the first goal early in the second half from midfielder Emma Solomon. Additional goals from attackers Kortney Harry and Lauren Matarazzo kept Marywood fighting in the third quarter. Marywood’s defense was able to keep Cabrini scoreless in the third quarter.

Going into the fourth quarter the Pacers were down 16-3. Attacker Kayla McCabe was able to get the first goal of the quarter. The Pacers continued to fight in the final quarter with goals coming from midfielder Ashley Cunningham and defensive player Alaina Brenneman.

“The team fought well in the second half today, and I am happy with the girls never giving up,” said Marywood Lacrosse coach Kerrie Brown.

Coach Brown also said she is looking forward to the rest of the season.

Captain Alaina Brenneman said she was proud of her team picking it up in the second half.

“It was our toughest game this season, the team never gave up and I am proud of the whole team,” said Brenneman.

The Pacers record is now 0-3 in the AEC this season. Their next game will be away against Gwynedd Mercy on April 20.
