The return of the Student Activities Crew (SAC) MU Coffeehouse event packed the Fireplace Lounge in Nazareth Hall on Monday night. Students performed on stage to show off their talents and others watched the live entertainment while drinking coffee and eating sweet treats.

The diversity in entertainment ranged from musicians and rappers to poets and magicians. There was even a special performance from Marywood’s own improvisational comedy group, Improv Beyond.

Junior Architecture Major Joe Leone shared how important it is for performers to overcome nerves on stage.

“It can be pretty nerve wracking to get up there, but I think it’s great that people can get up on stage and share their original work,” said Leone.

Event organizer and SAC Intern Madison Harm, junior business management major, kicked off the night’s performances with a showcase of her vocal talents. Harm shared why she thinks the MU Coffeehouse Series is such a success.

“It’s really fun and intimate compared to our other events, so it’s a lot more fun to throw on,” said Harm.

The next MU Coffeehouse is scheduled for Nov. 28.
