Where Creativity Works, a blog run by the Marywood Art Department, turns 10 years old this year. To celebrate this accomplishment, an exhibition opened on Nov. 15 in the Kresge Gallery, and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Jan. 14, and is free and open to the public.
The exhibition celebrates a decade of creativity, highlighting 133 current and past art bloggers, and the history behind the blog with fun facts, statistics and milestones over the past decade.

Sue Jenkins, associate professor of graphic design and photography and the editor-in-chief of the blog, explains that she came up with the idea for the blog in December 2014.
“The blog was started as a student recruitment tool to entice potential students to come and study art at Marywood,” said Jenkins. “But it also helps to promote our current students to have a sense of involvement not only personally, but with their peers in the art department community.”

The blog includes writers from each major to talk about their projects, and they also have Alumni Spotlights, On and Off Campus Art News and Student Spotlights.
Isabelle Morales, a sophomore illustration major and Off Campus Art News blogger, shared how the blog helps students express themselves.

“I think it definitely helps them express themselves because [Jenkins] really allows them to do whatever they want to a point where anytime you look at the blog, you can really tell a person’s personality just in the way that they write about the images that they use,” said Morales.
