Marywood’s Student Activities Committee (SAC) held Midnight Bingo in the Latour Room last Thursday night. Students had the chance to win prizes, which included bluetooth headphones, a Keurig coffeemaker, tabletop air hockey, gift cards, a Fitbit and more.

Although most people were not lucky enough to win prizes, others were successful in doing so. Felecia Garcia, a freshman graphic design major, won a bluetooth turntable.

“It felt good to win since I never win at events,” said Garcia. “This event was really nice. I’d like to see more events like this in the future.”

Usually bingo events are hosted at 9 p.m., but SAC wanted to change the time to see if it would create a better turnout. The event attracted more students, with students filling almost all of the seats. SAC had to bring extra seats and tables to accommodate all of the participants.

“We actually had a really great turnout for the time,” said Madison Harm, a member of SAC. “It definitely helps us figure out what times work best for us and when we get the most audience feedback.”

Some students came to the event to hang out with their friends and distance themselves from the demands of their schoolwork.

“My favorite part is that it makes me forget the stress of school. It’s a really fun event. I love bingo and winning things, even though I usually don’t,” said Amanda Garcia, a junior social work major.
