WELLNESS FAIR- On Thursday, February 17, Marywood University will be hosting a Celebrate Your Body Wellness Fair. The event will be held in the Fireplace Lounge, Nazareth Student Center, at 2:00 p.m.
DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC, THEATER AND DANCE PRESENTS “THE FANTASTICKS” – The production runs from February 9, -12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sette LaVerghetta Center for Performing Arts. Tickets can be purchased by calling the box office at 570-348-6211 ext. 2553.
SKI CLUB NOW AVAILABLE-Marywood University has started a Ski Club open to all students, faculty, staff, administrators and alumni and their families. The price for lift tickets is $18, and an additional $25 for Ski/Snowboard rentals, plus one free lesson. Skiers can take advantage of these discounted prices at Sno Mountain on Friday nights from 4-10 p.m. and/or Saturdays from 12-10 p.m. Participants must sign a liability waiver and fill out a weekly sign up and bring it to McGowan 1038 by Thursdays at 4:00 p.m. Tickets will be available on campus on Friday morning.
ALCOHOL SCREENING DAY– In honor of National Alcohol Screening Day, Marywood’s counseling and Student Development Center along with the Drug and Alcohol Treatment Service is providing free and confidential alcohol screenings on Tuesday, March 22. Food and drinks will be provided, along with the opportunity to participate in raffles. The program will be held at the Fireplace lounge, Nazareth Student Center from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
SELF-ESTEEM ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM OPEN FOR STUDENTS- Marywood University is offering a 5-week program to help increase understanding and awareness of self-esteem. Participants will have the opportunity to assess their self-esteem, and learn how to work on those issues. Visit the Counseling/Student Development Center for more information.
YOUR PERFECT RIGHT TO ASSERTIVENESS- Students can learn how to identify their own patterns of communication and practice improving their skills of assertiveness to use in a variety of settings through this program. Participants will learn how to stand up for themselves, express feelings and be heard! Visit the Counseling/Student Development Center for more information.
THE ART OF MINDFUL EATING- Learn how to take charge of your eating habits by participating in Body Peace: the Art of Mindful Eating group. You will examine what makes people eat, overeat, starve, and judge their bodies so harshly, by engaging in activities and discussions concerning media influence, self-perception, and the art of eating mindfully. SCJ INDUCTION – The recently created, Society for Collegiate Journalists will be holding an induction for its charter members on Sunday February 20 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium.
