Sr. Andrea Lee, IHM, Ph.D., will be this year’s speaker for Marywood’s 2016 commencement.

Sr. Andrea has a master’s and a doctorate in education administration from Penn State University in addition to undergraduate degrees in music, elementary education, and Italian, according to the press release.

She also serves on Marywood’s Board of Trustees and is a member of Marywood’s Academic Affairs Committee.

According to the press release, Sr. Andrea believes the central task of education “must be to enable students to see with new eyes, and to solve complex problems by employing fresh perspectives in a collaborative effort to move toward a new and better world.”

More than 800 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students will receive degrees at Marywood’s 98th annual commencement, according to the press release.

Marywood’s commencement will be held on Saturday, May 14 at 1 p.m. at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre.
