Marywood University’s Student Government Association (SGA) announced its new executive board members at the end of the spring 2025 semester. With these new members being active, they all share one common goal: being a voice for the student body.
The 2025-26 executive board members are as follows:
An initiative they are currently working on is sending out a feedback form for students, which will be an easy way for students to express their concerns, ideas or questions about SGA. Students will also be able to remain anonymous if they choose.
“Out of respect for our positions, when we’re told something by other students, we’re going to go and get an answer for that,” said Chief Funding Officer Fred Kloss. “Whether it’s a suggestion or a complaint, no matter what, we’re gonna get some kind of feedback for them.”
“I think that within our meetings is a very comfortable and open space as well. I definitely don’t think that anybody, whether that be general assembly or representatives, have any sort of hesitancy speaking up about things they want to see changed or improved or just talked about in general,” said Communications Manager Raena Figueroa.
SGA recently announced their new representatives and senators for the 2025-26 academic year as well. Undergraduate students had the opportunity to vote for who would fill these positions.
The 2025-26 representatives and senators are as follows:
“They are student leaders on campus, [and] they’re very passionate about what they do as well,” explained Mahmood. “They make sure everybody’s voices are heard.”
“I think something we pride ourselves on is [that] we are student leaders, but it’s not the sort of thing that we aren’t approachable or [not] easy to talk to,” said Figueroa.
Along with the initiative to be a voice for students, they also want to uphold their mission to be supportive of faculty and staff as well.
“I think also just making it known to the students, faculty and staff that we’re here for them and whatever they have to say, we’re always here to show support,” explained Vice President Sabrina Endriss. “We’re all involved in multiple different ways on campus, [and] we try to go to as many events as we can to show [our support].”
Mahmood reflects on how SGA has impacted Marywood since she was a freshman to now.
“It’s my senior year now, so I have seen the changes that have been made,” said Mahmood. “Marywood has been a lot more inclusive since when I first came here, and I feel like SGA is a big part of that.”
SGA meetings are held every other Tuesday at 9 p.m. in the Lynett Board Room at Nazareth Student Center, and the General Assembly can access meetings via Zoom.
