Marywood Dance Marathon had a magical night with its Pacers Dancing with the Stars. Teams of Marywood students and staff had the opportunity to show of their dance moves in support of Marywood Dance Marathon. Marywood Dance Marathon is supporting the Lehigh Valley Riley’s Children Hospital by hosting charity events, such as Pacers Dancing with the Stars. Community Giving Manager at Lehigh Valley Health Network, Kelly McCready, was asked how this event will be a benefit for the kids and she said, “The fundraising efforts is going to help support the experience for patients and families being treated at the hospital, whether it’s through therapeutic resources, toys, even crafts. It will help give them a positive experience at the hospital and make the hospital a little less scary for them.”

The stars of the night were Gabby & Chef Rob, Juan & Nicollette, Skylar & Kevin, Deirdre & Sister Rachel, and Ian & Professor Kovatch. Along with the stars, Marywood Dance Team and Arabesque Academy of dance also showed an amazing performance. Director of Arabesque Academy, Amy Belcher, shared, “ We’re really excited to be here and it’s an honor to be asked to perform”. Each of these stars put their dancing skills to the test, with Chef Rob and Gabby winning for the night. When asked about how she felt about winning Gabby said, “ It’s amazing, it was honestly so surreal. We worked really hard and it all paid off”. All of the money donated at last nights event will be given directly to the children’s hospital in addition to the money raised for the larger event coming this April.
