Women’s Soccer
Marywood ended its regular season with another dominant conference victory over Immaculata on Wednesday. The Pacers started off hot from the jump, with a cross Caroline Walters to Carly Walters resulting in a goal in the sixth minute. Marywood would go on to score another three goals in the second half while keeping up strong defensive pressure. Genevieve Morrison recorded her eight shutout of the season, helping the Pacers come out on top, 4-0, over the Mighty Macs.
This marked the best regular season record in school history, finishing 16-1 overall and 7-0 in conference play. By securing the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic East Conference Tournament, they will face Gwynedd Mercy on Tuesday in a semi-final matchup.
Men’s Soccer
The Pacers hosted the Mighty Macs on Wednesday to close out both their conference and regular season schedules. Immaculata scored early, punching in a goal in the 14th minute, which was the first and only goal of the contest. The Pacers could not find the back of the net in this one. They outshot the Mighty Macs 27-8 and led in corner kicks 8-0.
This loss drops Marywood to a 8-8-1 overall record and 5-2 in conference play, securing them the 2nd seed in the Atlantic East Conference Tournament and a home playoff matchup against Marymount on Tuesday.
Men’s Cross Country
The Pacers continued their dominance on Saturday, claiming their eighth-straight conference championship after finishing with a perfect score of 15.
Bryce Ryder was the individual champion with a time of 28:25.7. Joseph Cardillo finished second with a time of 28:33.4. Jakob Seamans came in third with a time of 28:46.1.
Marywood secured all of the top seven spots and all seven runners received all-conference honors. They will now prepare for the NCAA Regional meets coming up in two weeks.
Women’s Cross Country
The women’s cross country team finished in third place this Saturday during the Atlantic East Conference Championships with a score of 72 points.
Bella Auchenbach finished fifth with a time of 26:59.2. She also received an all-conference bid. Janelle Sanabria finished 10th with a time of 27:51.4.
In two weeks, the Pacers will compete in the Mid-Atlantic Region championships.
Field Hockey
The Pacers finished their regular season with a matchup against The College of New Jersey. This game slipped away from Marywood by the 30th minute, as the Pacers would go down 3-0. Despite having more shots on goal, they ultimately fell, 4-0.
The Atlantic East Conference Tournament saw the Pacers at the No. 1 seed. This would draw Manhattanville University in the semi-finals. The Pacers set the tone during the sixth minute with the first goal of the game. They would go on to out-shoot Manhattanville 31-3, which showed on the scoreboard with a 4-1 victory.
Dariane Jones tied the school record for assists and will look to break that record this Saturday. Marywood will host the Neumann Knights this Saturday in pursuit of a conference championship victory.
Volleyball
Marywood hosted the Neumann Knights on Wednesday for an Atlantic East matchup. The Knights had the Pacers’ number through the first two sets, winning 25-19 and 25-23. However, Marywood wasn’t ready to throw the white flag, rallying back in the third and fourth set winning 25-18 and 25-17, forcing a fifth set. The fifth set did not disappoint from a viewer’s standpoint, going back and forth between the Knights and the Pacers, but the Knights would call the game with a game-winning ace, defeating Marywood 18-16.
The Pacers would travel to Brooklyn, NY to face Pratt. It’s safe to say they took their frustrations from their loss to Neumann out on Saturday. They would go on to defeat the Cannoneers in three sets (25-14, 25-20, 25-23).
Women’s Swimming
In an Atlantic East tri-match, the Pacers split their results, defeating Immaculata but then falling to Marymount.
Kylee Koratich won the 200 Butterfly clocking in with a time of 2:29.66. Molly Englehardt claimed a victory in the 500 free, Camila Gil finished second in the 200 breast and the Pacers would place second in both the 200 medley and 200 free relays.
