Volleyball
The Pacers advanced to the Atlantic East championship for the first time since 1993 with a victory over Immaculata. The Pacers won all three sets 25-13, 25-15, 25-13. Taylor Hallam tallied 16 points with 11 kills. Emilie Agnoli had eight aces in the match, putting her fifth all-time in school history. Ayla Bransford continued her strong season with 31, moving to second all-time in a season. The Pacers defeated Immaculata 3-0.
The Pacers’ banner season came to an end with a three-set loss against Marymount in the Atlantic East Conference Championship, their first appearance since 1993. Genevieve Pollock had a team high in kills with eight, Carolina Samaniego had eight points, while Ayla Bransford led the team in assists with 29, setting her total to 901, which is second in school program history for a season. The Saints took all three sets against Marywood 25-21, 25-19, 25-17, winning 3-0.
Women’s Basketball
Marywood women’s basketball kicked off its first home game of the season against Penn State Harrisburg. After two quarters of play, the Pacers led the Lions with a score of 40-32. Once the second half got under way the Pacers continued to dominate the scoring with another 40 in the second half. Olivia Ciullo led the Pacers with 15 points, and Mia Blume tallied six assists and eight rebounds, helping the Pacers secure an 80-60 victory.
The Pacers hosted Houghton University for their second home game of the new season. The Pacers led going into halftime 35-25; however, a strong defensive showing by the Highlanders in the second half kept them in the game as the Highlanders were able to force overtime. The Pacers’ struggles continued in overtime as a buzzer-beater gave the Pacers the loss. Ciullo had 15 points and four assists, leading the team in the 69-66 loss.
Men’s Basketball
Men’s basketball hosted Keystone College in its home opener. The Pacers went into halftime leading 35-30, thanks to a combined 22-point half by Michel Loftin and Shilo Bivins. Despite attempts by Keystone to take the lead in the second half, the Pacers found their scoring ways, netting 44 points in the half, putting the Pacers’ lead out of reach. Loftin and Bivins both had double-doubles, with Loftin having 24 points and 11 rebounds, and Bivins scoring 15 points with 11 rebounds. Joe Macciocco had 11 points, with Ty Cheney having a career-high 10 points in a victory for the Pacers, 79-64.
Field Hockey
The Pacers started their NCAA Tournament with a first-round match against Wesleyan. This was the Pacers’ third time competing in the NCAA Tournament in school history. Bre Marchiano had a career high in saves with 22 and tallied all 60 minutes for the Pacers in goal. Despite Marchiano’s 22 saves, the Pacers’ season came to an end, losing to Wesleyan with a score of 7-0.
Men’s Cross Country
Men’s cross country took home a top-10 finish at the Mid-Atlantic Regionals. The Pacers averaged a time of 27 minutes, nine seconds, securing 306 points. Joseph Cardilo claimed all-regional status with a time of 26:1.1, good enough for a top-35 finish. Jakob Seamans had a personal record in his first regional championship race, while Jacob Walsh set his new personal best by dropping 49 seconds in his race.
Women’s Cross Country
Women’s cross country finished 22nd in their Mid-Atlantic Regional meet. The Pacers had an average time of 26 minutes, 46 seconds, with 668 points. Paige Redman finished her college career with a 119th-place finish with a time of 25:37.4, leading the Pacers. Zoe Badner’s collegiate career came to an end with a 173rd-place finish. Her time was 28:26.2.
Women’s Soccer
In award season, Carly Walters was named Atlantic East Conference Player of the Year and received her her fourth Atlantic East Conference First Team nomination in her career. Britlyn Higgins was named as back-to-back Atlantic East Defensive Player of the Year and made the Atlantic East Conference First Team. Genevieve Morrison, Faith Meals and Bryn Stiles joined Higgins and Walters on the conference first team, while Caroline Walters and Rylee Alston were selected to the Atlantic East Conference Second Team.
Men’s Soccer
Men’s soccer had five players receive honors for their play. Drew Smith, Jack Forbes and Owen Clearwaters were each selected to the Atlantic East Conference First Team. Defenders Alex Visha and Jayce Wilson were honored with Atlantic East Conference Second Team.
