Men’s Basketball

Despite it being February and conference play wrapping up in a few weeks, the Pacers took on Pratt Institute Saturday, Feb 3. It was a non-conference matchup but something that could have been very beneficial for Marywood as Pratt will be joining the conference starting in 2025 so it was definitely a wise move to schedule this game. Pratt stayed in the fight through the first half as it was 49-40 at the break with the Pacers up. The Pacers found their usual spark just a little bit later in this game as they broke it open to a 20-plus point advantage and ultimately went onto win by 22 points. The Pacers were led by Andrew Quinn who finished the game with a career high 23 points, as he was on fire from deep going 7-8 from three. The Pacers will look to keep the momentum going as they get back into conference play against Centenary University.

The momentum carried back conference play for Marywood as they left New Jersey with a big win over Centenary to move into fourth place in the Atlantic East which right now guarantees them a home playoff game. The Pacers started quickly by taking a 16-point lead into the half and despite Centenary playing better it wasn’t enough, as the Pacers took the 88-78 win. They were led by the trio of Brendan Franko, Trevor Seitz, and Mason Mendygral who all contributed over 17 points in the contest and as a team the Pacers went 28-35 from the free throw line which made all the difference. The Pacers will look to extend to three wins in a row on Feb. 10 at home against Neumann University.

Women’s Basketball

A big game for Marywood didn’t go as planned Wednesday night as they were unable to go for the season sweep against Centenary and potentially get closer to fourth place in the Atlantic East Conference, which is now a tall task. The Pacers were down early and were unable to try and get back into the game as they were down 40-32 and ultimately lost 84-74. They were led by Mia Blume who played the entire game as well as scoring 17 points in the defeat. The Pacers will return to action Feb. 10 back at home against Neumann University.

All statistics are from MarywoodPacers.com as of February 7.
