Men’s Basketball
After a road victory over Cabrini University 54-53 concluded the regular season, Marywood returned to Scranton to host the Cavaliers in the first round of the Atlantic East playoffs. Senior guard Trevor Seitz was on fire, knocking down four threes, finishing the night with 23 points to help the Pacers advance to the semifinals 80-68.
Marywood hit the road for the semifinals, facing the Griffins of Gwynedd Mercy University. The Griffins beat Marywood in both regular season matchups, scoring over 90 points in both victories. Marywood didn’t give the Griffins space, staying within striking distance the entire first half, before eventually taking the lead in the second half. Unfortunately, Marywood lost momentum in the final seven minutes, as the Griffins ended the Pacers’ season, 86-76.
Women’s Basketball
The women’s team was seeded in sixth for the playoffs, meaning they were set to be on the road, traveling to Neumann University for the opening round of the playoffs. Marywood was dominated from the get-go, as the Knights sent the Pacers packing early, as their season ended with an 84-47 loss.
Men’s Swimming and Diving
The Pacers partook in the Atlantic East Conference Swimming Championships, coming in victorious over their last three meets. Marywood finished with a total of 248 points, which placed them in fifth place out of six teams. Despite the fifth place finish, junior Dylan Hervieux broke the school’s 200-meter backstroke record during the meet.
Women’s Swimming and Diving
Similarly to the men’s team, the women’s swimming and diving team went into the Atlantic East Conference Swimming Championships on a three meet win streak. Junior swimmers Samantha Peck and Aubrey Mangan finished runner up in two races each helping the Pacers total 318 points, placing them fourth.
Women’s Lacrosse
The women’s lacrosse team opened the season on the road, traveling to Misericordia University to face the Cougars. The Cougars opened the game with three consecutive goals, a deficit the Pacers were unable to overcome, as they were not victorious in their first game of the season, 15-12. Reigning Atlantic East Rookie of the Year Avery Meighan began her sophomore season off hot, totaling six goals and an assist in the effort.
