Breakfast is called the most important meal of the day, but it may not always be necessary.

My Advice:

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, right? Although this is a common saying, it may not always be true.

The reason that breakfast is said to be so important is because you are breaking your fast during time spent sleeping.You then get energy you need for the day by eating. There are some other benefits like increased concentration and memory.

Children should eat breakfast every morning because they are still growing. Eating breakfast will allow them to get the nutrients they need and will help them to live a healthier lifestyle. There is more about the benefits of having your child eat breakfast here.

While some people eat right when they get up, it is okay to wait a little while. Everyone also has different sleeping and morning habits. It is recommended to eat within about two hours after you wake up.

It is okay to skip breakfast early in the morning if you aren’t hungry. In order to compensate for this, you should try to make up for the nutrients you miss in your first meal. It is important to be mindful of what you eat though because there is a good chance that you can overcompensate.

The problem with saying if breakfast is good or bad is that there is simply not enough research, as explained by the Mayo Clinic. The studies that have been done on breakfast are observational studies which means that their findings don’t necessarily prove that breakfast is good.

There still is an overwhelming amount of benefits that are associated with breakfast though, according to the research. The top benefit for eating breakfast is improving your heart health. Eating fiber in the morning can help to decrease cholesterol. By eating breakfast, you are also more focused due to being more awake. Eating breakfast is also shown to help make food choices that are healthy throughout the day.

Although there are some discrepancies, the most important thing is to listen to your body and make sure you are getting the proper nutrition. If you are hungry in the morning then you should eat.
